PRODUCTION GUIDE

Factory Introduction Film: Planning, Process and Budget

A factory film’s scope is shaped by access before floor area: which lines run when, where a camera can be placed and who can accompany the crew on site.

Production preparation for a factory filming plan

Separate facility size from filming scope

List the departments to be filmed—production, quality control, warehouse, laboratory, dispatch or offices—and state what each section needs to show. A larger facility with one accessible line can require a different plan from a smaller facility with many areas.

Shifts, access and safety

Match operating hours and line access with the site lead. Flag areas where production cannot stop, camera proximity is limited or protective equipment, hygiene transitions and escorts are required.

Confirm safety training, protective equipment, approvals and restricted screens or processes before the day. Drone suitability and responsibility are assessed by the location and conditions; it should not be assumed as a standard deliverable.

Interviews and technical explanation

Set interview availability and topics in advance. Production noise can require a separate space for sound. If graphics or 3D sections are considered, identify who will verify the technical information.

Travel, timing and delivery versions

Travel, accommodation, site-entry times and customer-provided facilities are planned separately where needed. Name the duration, ratio, language and subtitle needs for web, sales, trade-show and social use.
